Ouch! Ouch! OUCH!............Oh, hello! Sorry about that! I’m Logan, a big ole Teddy Bear of a Golden – all 113 lbs. of me! I’m nine years old and about the best boy in the world. I’ve been walking around with big ugly red sores all over my paws, and believe me when you weigh as much as I do it really hurts! From the looks of it, these sores have been there a mighty long time. I also have two torn knees and need ACL surgery. I was adopted from a shelter three years ago, but when I got the sores on my paws, my family returned me because they didn’t want to pay to take me to the vet. GRRR fell in love with me and jumped right in to help.
The nice vet found foxtails embedded between my pads that had abscessed (no wonder they hurt so badly!), and I even had some that had abscessed on my belly. I had immediate surgery and am very grateful that I’ll soon be feeling better. I sure did enjoy just lying there getting all that attention! After all, that’s what we Goldens live for. I’m so overweight that I can barely walk, let alone chase a ball. Lugging all these extra pounds around (about 35!) has crippled my knees. I’m going to have my ACL surgery after I lose 20 pounds.
I’ve already had some expensive medical bills and have more on the way. But GRRR tells me I’m worth every penny and more. How is it that these people love me so much and give me such great care when my own family abandoned me? It’s sad, really, because I’m such a sweet and loving Golden and I would have done anything for them. What’s important is I’m very happy now and I love each and every one of you for caring for me and my Golden friends. If you would like to help me on the road to recovery with your kind donations, I sure would be grateful. I drift off to sleep at night dreaming of the time when I will be able to run and fetch a ball like the other Goldens do. I also dream of a loving family and a home to call my own, and all that’s possible now because of you.
