Hi, my name is Priscilla and I’m 8 years old. I came to GRRR from South Dakota where my family left me at the shelter and drove off in a big hurry. Too bad they didn’t have time to say good-bye or tell them my name, but I like my new name just fine.
You might have noticed from my picture that there is something unusual going on with my mouth. There’s a growth that looks like I’ve got a golf ball stuck under my upper lip, and it makes my teeth kind of go in different directions. I used to be a little self conscious about it, but GRRR says I have a sweet funny little face and grin and that they love me even more because of it. I’ve had surgery to reduce the size and a biopsy. Turns out it’s something called cancer, but it’s the kind that is localized and isn’t likely to spread. It doesn’t stop me from running and playing with the other Goldens in my foster home, and I’m having lots of fun. I’m always moving – living every second to the fullest – and looking for fun wherever I am. When someone says my new name in a kind voice and smiles at me, I feel positively beautiful.
My life might be shortened some but there’s no way to really tell. I’m looking for a very special family to share my joy of life with – someone who will love me just the way I am. One thing is for sure – the best part of my life will begin as soon as my loving family takes me home. It will be a chance for me to erase the past and enjoy all the happiness and love I’ve been longing for.
Because of GRRR and the wonderful Golden Angel fund, I still have a chance at a happy life. Thank you everyone for your love and support. I know there’s someone very special out there that I’m meant to be with. If that special person is you, you’re in for a real treat. I’m extra lovable and adorable, and I’ll bring you all kinds of happiness with my happy attitude and my funny little face. I will be waiting right here for you.
Love,
Priscilla
